REASEARCH QUESTION


How can an enterprise desktop application's search and communication features be optimized to effectively collect customer feedback, providing valuable user insights for the product team ahead of a new product launch?



Introduction



I was tasked with developing a data visualization tool that aggregates and visualizes customer feedback data for a studio project, providing a product team with a comprehensive overview of user sentiments and preferences.

  


Conducted comprehensive market research to create detailed personas, user stories, and flowcharts as part of the preliminary research phase, ensuring the design aligned with user needs and expectations.



Designed mid-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and organized UI elements like icons, buttons, and typography styles for a cohesive user interface.



Developed an AI-driven feedback analytics dashboard to efficiently visualize and identify customer feedback trends.

Research & Analysis


I conducted market research on existing B2B and B2C dashboard’s and CRM’s to find industry standard designs for user insight + data visualization features.



User story & flow chart 


I crafted a clear user story and flow chart to guide the design process. These deliverables ensured that user needs were clearly defined and seamlessly integrated into the dashboard’s workflow. My user story ultimately helped drive my flow chart and simplified what used to be something complex and redundant. 

After creating the first version of my flow chart,  I ran into an issue where I had a system that was overly complex for the scope of the project. To work through this I spoke with my professor who gave me critical feedback which helped me reframe the goal of my user and reduce the number of steps in my flow chart from 14 to 5.

By taking a holistic approach to problem-solving, we addressed the challenge of integrating AI feedback within the dashboard and reducing the complexity of scope while testing design choices without external user testing. This comprehensive view allowed us to balance accessibility and unobtrusiveness of the AI tool while ensuring efficient design validation through internal feedback and rapid prototyping.

Final Designs

A streamlined menu system simplifies navigation for accessing various widgets on the commerce dashboard. Its intuitive layout differentiates from the primary dashboard interface for user-friendly interaction.













Quick Data Preview

A responsive hover state on the total sales chart widget allows users to instantly view daily sales figures by simply hovering over specific dates. The dynamic interaction seamlessly integrates with the dashboard's design, enhancing user experience by providing immediate, detailed insights.








A.I. driven feedback

An AI-driven feature provides users with actionable insights by analyzing integrated systems like Google and Facebook ads. It identifies patterns and correlates ad spend with revenue, offering valuable business intelligence to optimize marketing strategies.


















Design Choices

The sharp-edged icons reflect the structured nature of financial dashboards, emphasizing precision and reliability. Orange was chosen as the primary color to add vibrancy and engagement, while the dark UI provides an industrial, modern feel. This combination enhances clarity, reduces eye strain, and ensures important data stands out effectively.
